The author sums up his life in an Afterward:
I, thank God, am fortunate. I lived through this with honor. My conscience is clear in front of my people and country. I have lived to see my country be free. I have seen the dawn of life on my native land.
I am in a state of total good health and ability to write of this to my descendants. I admit that I love my Homeland.
